Anita Bader studied at the Hochschule für Musik Munich with Rita Hirner-Lill.
She completed the Concert Diploma in 1990 before then going on to obtain a post-graduate
diploma. From 1989 until 1992 she was a member of the Opernstudio at the Bavarian
State Opera in Munich. She often appeared on the main stage in minor roles,
for example Vertraute in ELEKTRA under Marek Janowski or Blumenmädchen
in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO under Wolfgang Sawallisch.
Guest appearances at the Bavaria State Opera between 1992 and 1994 included:
Gerhilde in the WALKÜRE under Marek Janowski; Pile in
UBU REX (K. Penderecki) in a production from August Everding
under Michael Boder; and First Lady-in-waiting in DER PRINZ
VON HOMBURG (H. W. Henze) under Wolfgang Sawallisch.
In addition, she performed her first Senta in THE FLYING DUTCHMAN in Klagenfurt
in 1993, and made her debut at the Bregenz festival in 1994 with Biancofiore
in FRANCESCA DA RIMINI under the direction of Fabio Luisi.
Anita Bader worked together with Giuseppe Sinopoli in two productions:
the Blumenmädchen in PARSIFAL with the Academia di Santa Cecilia in Rome
1993 and the Fourth Magd in ELEKTRA in Tokyo with the Dresdner Staatskapelle
in 1995.
From 1994 until 1998 she was engaged at the Ulmer Theater where she sang important
roles such as Tosca, Senta again, Fidelio and Marschallin in DER ROSENKAVALIER
by R. Strauss.
Since 1998 she has been engaged at the theater magdeburg
where she has extended her repertoire with Elsa, Sieglinde, Ariadne,Judith (B.
Bartok: HERZOG BLAUBARTS BURG) as well as Aida, Amelia, Elisabetta (DON CARLOS)
and Leonore (IL TROVATORE). In autumn 2002 she made her debut at the Staatstheater
am Gärtnerplatz in Munich with the Isabella in R. Wagner’s DAS LIEBESVERBOT.
Also there she sang the Leonore in the first draft of L. v. Beethoven’s
FIDELIO in autumn 2003 under the direction of chief cunductor David Stahl.
Anita Bader also enjoys singing Liederabende and concerts as she did for example
in September 2001, where she performed Elsa in LOHENGRIN with the Stuttgarter
Philharmoniker under Jörg-Peter Weigle in Neuschwanstein
with Francisco Araiza as Lohengrin. Worth mentioning is also her CD-recording
of the Lyric Symphony of A. Zemlinsky with the Magdeburger Philharmonie under
the direction of chief cunductor Christian Ehwald.
